Image Classification

The task of assigning labels to images based on their content, used in product tagging and visual search.

Image Generation

Using generative models to create realistic images, enabling automated creative production.

Imitation Learning

Training models to mimic expert behaviour by learning from demonstrations, applicable in customer service bots.

Implicit Feedback

User behaviour such as clicks or dwell time that indicates preferences without explicit ratings.

Importance Sampling

A statistical technique for estimating expected values by sampling from distributions that focus on important regions.

Incremental Learning

Updating models continuously as new data arrives to maintain performance over time.

Inductive Bias

Assumptions a model makes to generalize beyond its training data; understanding biases helps interpret predictions.

Inference

The process of applying a trained model to new data to generate predictions or outputs.

Information Bottleneck

A principle that describes how networks compress input information while preserving relevant signals.

Information Retrieval

Techniques for searching and extracting relevant information from large data repositories or the web.

Intent Prediction

Models that infer the underlying intent of users based on behavioural signals to target ads or content.

Interactive Learning

Systems that learn through ongoing interaction with users, improving over time based on feedback.

Interpretability

The degree to which a human can understand the reasoning behind a model’s predictions.

Intersection over Union

A metric used to evaluate object detection models by measuring the overlap between predicted and actual regions.

Intelligent Agent

A system capable of autonomous action in an environment to meet designed objectives.

Inversion Attack

A privacy attack where adversaries reconstruct original data from model outputs or embeddings; awareness is key for data security.
